Rowland House

Rowland House is a specifically designed premises that consists of 3 small bungalow units, all of which have been designed to accommodate physical disabilities.

We have concentrated on developing the environment to cater for People with higher physical needs as well as brain injury and other neurological conditions.

The lay out of the home is a mixture of homely ambience and functional design, all of which has been incorporated into small , secure gated complex that people can feel safe and secure whilst at the same time being in close proximity to everyday aminities.

The service continues the ethos developed at ‘Lime Trees’ and ‘Oakley House’, where we concentrate on developing the individuals care pathway and re-enablement plan (when appropriate) in a community based setting.

Rowland House is situated 3 miles from the town centre and has a bus route outside. There is a ‘one stop’ shop & pharmacy opposite as well as the usual newsagents, pubs and takeaways. The house gives close access to the sea front and public footpaths to the sea are nearby. Harwich gives the person an opportunity to encounter a quiet urban community with the opportunity to build relationships in a more modern setting close by.

There is social clubs within the area and sports grounds. More specific services can be accessed close by such as gateway clubs, Headway association and colleges in the Clacton/ Colchester area.

Care given at Rowland Yard is specific around the persons need. We specialise in helping people integrate back into the community from larger homes/hospitals that they may have lived in for periods of their life. Re-enablement programs are developed around the Persons assessed needs and the provision for specialist services, such as Neuropsychology, Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy are provided.

We provide one to one staff support to help the person gain confidence and skills within the community, with constant feedback and assessment of their needs. Given the close support on offer, Rowland House meets the need of individuals that may not be suited to sharing a larger home and those that may need a more comprehensive care assessment.
